Tim & Emilio's Electric Wedding at LM Studios on Chicago's Michigan Avenue

Late June in Chicago is always a special time for a wedding, and Tim and Emilio’s celebration at LM Studios on Michigan Avenue carried extra meaning, landing right in the middle of Pride Month.

Our DJ team was on site for the full day, kicking things off with the ceremony, officiated by the couple’s friend Sofia. Once the vows were exchanged, the team flipped the room for the reception while guests headed downstairs for cocktail hour. Turning a room over while guests are still in the building takes real coordination — this one went off without a hitch.

Once everyone was back upstairs and seated, dinner moved through the usual formalities before the dancing kicked off — and that’s where the night really opened up.

The first meaningful moment came before the couple’s first dance, when Emilio’s mother, Miriam, was brought out to the floor. Both Emilio and Tim danced with her, a warm, personal touch that set the tone for everything that followed.

Then came the first dance itself. We brought out our dancing-on-the-clouds effect, filling the entire floor with low-lying fog. The visual was striking, and the reaction in the room made it clear it landed. When the slow first-dance song wrapped, the couple broke into a choreographed routine that caught everyone off guard — guests who had just been watching quietly were instantly on their feet.

From there, the dance floor never slowed down. The music ranged from wedding crowd-pleasers to a strong Latin set — banda, bachata, merengue, and salsa — that kept a big portion of the room dancing deep into the night.

Tim and Emilio’s wedding at LM Studios was a great night to be part of, especially as a Chicago wedding DJ during Pride Month. The room on Michigan Avenue was full of energy, the couple brought real personality to every moment they planned, and the crowd was ready to dance from the first song to the last.
